Terry Fewell Memorial Awards
A dear friend of the Enduro world, Terry Fewell, passed away this
May after an 18 month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 69
years old. Terry started racing enduros in the late 60's and
continued until his final race which was the Upland Muddobbers
National in 2010 less than a month before the doctors’ found his
cancer. He continued to ride as much as he could up until this
spring a few weeks before he passed. He enjoyed every moment
on the many motorcycles he raced over the years but most of all
he loved getting others to ride with him either for their first time
or back into riding again.
Sadly, Terry lost his daughter Kim just a month earlier to a seven
year struggle with cancer. He is survived by his daughter, Pam,
his wife, Marsha, and two grandsons, both avid motorcycle riders
which is sure not surprising since almost everyone that knew Terry
was involved with motorcycle riding in some form. At Terry's funeral
the church was full beyond capacity and his wife asked everyone
that was there to stand if they had ever been riding with or beside
Terry on a dirt bike and if anyone in the church didn't stand you
couldn't see them for the people that were.
Terry's friends and family decided to put together Terry's Memorial
award to help support the Enduro Family that Terry loved so much
and to remember the final race of Terry's motorcycle journey.
Terry would have wanted his friends and family to spread his awards
around to several deserving recipients, so they have decided to
award $100 to the winners of the: Overall A, Overall B, Overall C,
B-200, B-250, B-Open, B-30+, B-40+,B-45+, B-50+, 60+ and
Womens class at the 2012 Muddobbers National Enduroon October
14th.
