ROCKSTAR ENERGY HUSQVARNA FACTORY RACING’S THAD DUVALL PUSHES THE LIMITS AND CLAIMS 2ND OVERALL IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP RACE

JOSH STRANG FINISHES OUT THE 2017 SEASON WITH AN 8TH OVERALL IN THE PRO CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP RACE

The Gobbler Getter National Enduro took place this weekend in Stanton, Alabama where the weather was in the mid-70’s and the dirt was near perfect after it rained during the week. The course was very rough but the wet dirt allowed for no dust and much needed traction for final round speed. The race consisted of six tests that ranged from six to twelve miles in length.

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Thad Duvall started the race fully motivated by how close in points he was to the 2017 Championship. His pace fell a little off in the first test where he finished in third losing valuable time. Duvall charged forward in the next two rounds and came out second in both, still putting him some seconds behind that lead position. The extremely tight terrain proved to be difficult for him in the fourth test. Duvall’s motivation to claim the Pro Championship carried him to win the final two tests. Unfortunately for Duvall, the battle was so tight between the point’s leader and himself that if he did not finish ahead of him, there would be no overall championship. At the end of the day, Duvall finished second behind the leader by 12 seconds and ultimately claimed second in the 2017 National Enduro Pro Class Championship.

“It was a great year on my FX 350. To have come so close to winning the championship in both series is such a bummer but it was one of the greatest years in my pro career. Training starts now, and I am ready to take on 2018!” said an excited Thad Duvall.

Josh Strang struggled the entire round and was off his pace on the FX 450. Strang would finish out the day in 14th for the Pro class and 8th in contention for the 2017 championship.
