Lynnville, IN (April 15, 2018) – FAR Racing Gas Gas North America’s Nick Davis scored a hard-fought podium finish in the NE Pro2 class at the very challenging third round of the Kenda AMA National Enduro Series in Lynnville, Indiana, taking advantage of an early start time to claim a seventh overall finish against a strong lineup of Pro riders. The finish was also good enough for second in the NE Pro2 class.
Heavy overnight rains made for extremely muddy conditions, which translated into deep ruts for the competitors, however Davis seemed to thrive in the difficult conditions, riding his 2018 GasGas XC250 to his best ever National Enduro finish.
Nick Davis: I was lucky to be able to start early before the ruts got really bad. The main thing is I was having fun and I think that’s the reason for my good performances this year. The bike is working awesome and all I have to do is go out and have fun and just ride the thing. The course was super demanding, with lots of mud and really deep ruts. I had some good test scores and I really started enjoying the conditions; it stinks Ryder Lafferty got me there at the end, but I’m pleased with the outcome and it shows we are getting better with every race.
Riding a GasGas XC300 in the Pro class, development rider Andrew DeLong spent most of the race feeling out new suspension. DeLong was on course for a solid top-eight finish until he buried the bike in a deep rut in test five. At the end of the day, DeLong missed out on a top-10 finish by just less than 30 seconds.
Andrew Delong: It’s still a work in progress right now. It’s been a while since I’ve raced at this level and I’m still getting up to speed. I honestly just need more race time. The bike is working great and I think we were on track to get a good result, better than we’ve had so far this year. But this kind of race can turn in a heartbeat and just one wrong line choice cost me a lot of critical time. We are heading in the right direction and I’m confident we were get there soon.
Women’s Elite rider Korie Steede did not compete due to an injury she suffered at the Steele Creek GNCC.
FAR Racing Gas Gas North America returns to action nest weekend for the Camp Coker Bullet GNCC in Society Hills, South Carolina.
