Mixed Bag For Gas Gas North America At Cherokee Enduro
Greensboro, GA (July 8, 2018) – FAR Racing Gas Gas North America experienced a mixed bag at this weekend’s Cherokee National Enduro in Greensboro, Georgia.
A heat wave moved over the southeastern part of the country just in time for this year’s Cherokee National Enduro in Greensboro, Georgia, as over 500 racers took to the course for one of the premiere enduro races of the year.
Andrew DeLong had one of his best races of the season in the NE Pro class, finishing 10th overall aboard his GasGas XC300. Meanwhile, in the NE Pro 2 class, Nick Davis only got as far as the second test when he stuck his foot in a hole and injured his knee, forcing the GasGas XC250 rider to drop out of the race.
Andrew DeLong: Today went pretty good. I stayed off the ground for the most part and I feel like I’m riding better with each race. I just need to keep moving forward. We tried some new settings in the later tests and I think we found some good stuff. I’m still adapting to the two-stroke and I’m just trying to smooth my self out, which I think we did. I’m encouraged with the weekend and I feel like I’m riding better than what the finish indicates.
Nick Davis: I got tangled up with a lapper in the first test, there was nowhere to go and we kind of got together so that cost me about 40 seconds. But then in the second test I was trying to make up time and I lost my front wheel on some tree roots and dabbed my foot in a hole. I twisted my knee and it popped. I’m not sure the extent of the injury, but we will just go home and see what happens.
The FAR Racing Gas Gas North America team returns to action on July 22nd for the Rattlesnake National Enduro in Cross Fork, Pennsylvania, round six of the Kenda AMA National Enduro Series.
