KR4/Husqvarna Team Report: Cherokee National Enduro
GREENSBORO, G.A. (July 10, 2018) – The KR4/Husqvarna team travelled to the Peach State this weekend for the Cherokee National Enduro in Greensboro, Georgia. The 93-mile course was in perfect condition which set up both Tayla Jones and Cory Buttrick for success at the fifth round of the Kenda AMA National Enduro Series.
Tayla Jones dealt with pressure the entire day from her fellow Australian competitor, but showed why she is the reigning champion, coming out five seconds ahead to win the Women’s Elite class. “I started off a bit slow, but then it picked up,” said Jones. “Some of the places were a bit sketchy because of the stumps, but overall it was a good day!” Jones came out with four of the six test wins, marking her third-straight win.
Cory Buttrick had his best race of the season, finishing fourth overall and narrowly missing the overall podium by just under a minute. Despite the overall winner being seemingly untouchable throughout the day, Buttrick finished second to him in the fourth test and proved he has what it takes to end up on the podium before the season is over.
“It felt great being towards the front again, things are starting to click,” explained Buttrick. “It’s tough when you have to wrench on the bike by yourself, but definitely worth it!”
The KR4/Husqvarna team travels back up north to Pennsylvania this weekend for the LL Raceway Full Gas Sprint Enduro before returning to the National Enduro scene the following weekend on Sunday, July 22.
