Lafferty and Fahringer Podium at Noble Woods National Enduro
NEW BERWICK, Maine ─ Husaberg Factory rider Mike Lafferty just missed out on a win at the 9th round of the AMA National Enduro Series and took home a commendable 2nd place finish while fellow Husaberg rider Nick Fahringer finished right behind him in 3rd.
The race was cut to 5 tests after the first test was dropped after there was a problem with communication between the officials at the starting point and the first check. After the dropped test Lafferty really showed that his training over the past few months was finally paying off. Lafferty won the first two sections. He struggled the most in the third test where he finished 4th fastest but then picked up his speed for the final two tests to finish 2nd fastest in the second to last test and 3rd fastest in the final test. When it was all said and done Lafferty finished just 33 seconds down from eventual winner Russell Bobbitt.
“I am definitely bummed that I wasn’t able to get a win today but it feels great to know that I was back up front battling for the win. The past few races I have been struggling to find the speed to hang with the leaders and it is really good to know I still have it,” remarked Lafferty.
Fahringer also put in a remarkable ride to land two Husaberg machines on the final podium. Fahringer finished with the second fastest lap times in three of five tests to finish 3rd overall for the day just 34 seconds behind Lafferty.
