Eaton Rapids, MI (October 5, 2015) – The 2015 Kenda AMA National Enduro Series Presented by Moose Racing comes to a conclusion this weekend with the series finale at the Muddobbers National Enduro presented by Yamaha Power Equipment in Matthews, Indiana. And while FMF/KTM’s Kailub Russell wrapped up the series title at the previous round in Lynnville, Indiana, there’s still plenty of battles to be decided, including an exciting race for the runner-up slot in the championship. Russell Bobbitt, Steward Baylor and Grant Baylor are all three in contention for second place in the series, and this weekend’s race will decide the final outcome.
Ryan Sipes will be another rider looking to come away with a “W”, having won the previous round in Lynnville, Indiana. In addition, the AirGroup Racing Husqvarna rider is still riding a wave of confidence from his individual victory at last month’s ISDE in Slovakia.
Of course, you can never rule out riders like Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Andrew DeLong, MotoSport.com/Yamaha’s Brad Bakken, and AirGroup Racing teammates Nick Fahringer and Ryder Lafferty. Any of these riders can contend for a win at any given race.
This year’s event will be special in that it will feature six different river crossings to compliment the very flowing course. The course will also return to the start area after the first three test before heading back out for the final three tests.
On Saturday, Jason Raines will have Yamaha demo rides from 10 am to 4 pm, and then later in the afternoon the Matthews Fire Department will host a spaghetti dinner.
A year-end awards ceremony will be held after the event on Sunday evening to give away end-of-year awards, with KTM hosting the awards dinner. There will also be a TV slideshow with photos from throughout the year.
At the awards ceremony, Kenda is giving away a free tire to each of the class winners for the series. KTM will also have prizes for all KTM riders who finish in the top three in each class. In addition, Yamaha is giving away a generator to any rider from any class who is closest to 75 series points from the last three races. There will also be a drawing for a $500 gift certificate from Max Motorsports in Pelham, Alabama. Every rider who participated at all 9 events in 2015 will be included in the drawing.
Year-end Rekluse Expert-AA purse will be given away to the class winner. Over $2000 was donated for the award by Checkpoint Off-road, Co-Man Portable Toilets, Elizabeth Scott Community, Excel Truck and Diesel Services, MotoTally Event Scoring Systems, David Chamberlain attorney, and Kenda Trackside Support.
Evan Smith and Drew Higgins continue to have a close points battle for the class lead and both are in the top 15 overall and will graduate to the pro class for 2016 if their stellar results continue.
