Obermeyer Suzuki Race Report; Salley, South Carolina 3-1-2015
AMA National Enduro Series
With layers of ice and snow at home in Indiana the Boys in Yellow made the trip to South Carolina for round 2 of the AMA Kenda National Enduro Series.
Eager to race again, AA-Expert contender Jake Froman who rode his Suzuki RM-Z250 to a solid 5th place finish in the first round at Sumter last month was prepared to better that finish at round 2. The first test would be a challenge for most riders as the conditions were wet and cold, took a toll on goggles. Jake would tally up a few mistakes in test one to finish 4th.
With a little more smoothness and finesse Jake rode better in test 2 carding him a 3rd place. During test 3 Jake would find himself battling a handling issue and would come out of that test in 9th. With little time to spare between test 3 and 4 pit boss Chad Froman would make the call to ride it out unit the end of test 4 where Chad was positioned with a spare fork to swap out with just enough time to get Jake to the start of 5. While test 4 was a survival ride landing Jake in 14th he managed to be mentally strong for the balance of the day. Jake carded a 4th in test 5 and slid a little to 8th in the final test. This performance was good enough to earn the young Froman a 4th place on the day.
Cole Kirchoff was riding well in the 250A Class until the effects food poising took over and caused him to get very ill and retire for the day.
The Boys will be getting prepared for the opening round of GNCC racing this month in Florida!
We are able to race due to the wonderful support of these fine companies.
